Italian artist and designer Ilaria Perra is the founder and creative director of Stilelibero.
Her creative journey began in 2005 with the creation of the world’s first Cork Yoga Mat — a pioneering sustainable innovation recognised by Vogue, The Guardian, and leading international publications. This spirit of curiosity, innovation, and conscious design continues to shape the Stilelibero philosophy today.
Prior to studying Fashion Womenswear at Central Saint Martins, Ilaria gained valuable experience in luxury retail with Hermès and Versace, where she developed a deep appreciation for exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. She later studied Art & Design at Chelsea College of Art, Graphic Design at Shillington College, and went on to teach Fashion CAD at Central Saint Martins for over fifteen years.
Born and raised on the island of Sardinia, Ilaria has travelled extensively, drawing inspiration from architecture, island life, tribal art, artisanal craftsmanship, and the natural landscapes she has encountered around the world. Together with a lifelong yoga practice, these experiences have shaped a design philosophy centred on freedom of movement, versatility, and timeless elegance.
Every collection begins with a feeling, a memory of a place, or an emotion. Some evolve from expressive mono-prints; others from painting, photography, or impressions from her travels. These visual impressions are transformed into distinctive prints and limited-edition resortwear that celebrate authenticity, artistic expression, and fluid silhouettes.
